The board of the Médiathèque Musicale Mahler elected me as chairman on 7th November 2018. Maurice Fleuret – the inventor of the Fête de la Musique – and Henri-Louis de la Grange, the well-known musicologist, founded the Médiathèque Musicale Mahler, which is located in Paris (8e) in a mansion they owned. The « MMM » hosts rich collections where researchers can study unique items (Mahler’s manuscripts, Debussy’s letters…), where 65 000 books, sheet music and recordings help musicians to musicians to enhance their programs and interpretations and where amateurs can enrich their musical knowledges. The Mediatheque is now bound to the Fondation Royaumont, whose manager, Francis Maréchal, is also the Mediatheque’s one. Both institutions develop common research, valorization, training and diffusion programs. More information at
